I have a subscription to Jenni Bowlins kits. They come hand delivered by my mailman every month. I have been getting them for over a year and I have been stashing them in my secret stash until about 3 months ago… I started using them on my journal pages and special layouts for the family. I love me some Jenni…..So Jenni Bowlin has an inspiration blog that has started doing challenges. Well basically if you get the kits you can make any kind of page as long as you use the kits for that month. I started playing with it a little last night and am in love with this kit. It is perfect for pages for my boys. Even though there are flowers it is cheerful and colorful. So here is the layout I did for the contest… Click on the picture to enlarge!

Well I told everyone I was going to my good friends wedding and my sister was flying in from California to meet me. We stayed at The Madison Hotel in Morristown, New Jersey. It was where the wedding was at. I was able to visit with my good friend Alissa and meet her new husband and all their friends. I roomed with my sister it was really good to see her again. I have not seen her in a couple years… She lives in California with all of the rest of my family. We had a great time. I took 444 pictures so it was hard for me to pick my favorites. We took a double decker tour bus all over New York on Friday and on Sunday. It was great because I was able to take pictures of all the big spots in New York. On Saturday my sister and I spent the whole day with Alissa and Joe and their Family and friends for the wedding and reception…We got together after the reception and ate the best most greasy Jersey pizza….Mmmmm. Everyone pretty much is Italian that we hung out with and the menu for all the wonderful food at the wedding was alot like the food we ate in Sicily. I was in heaven all over again. I did see a scrapbook store and a flea market I would have LOVED to visit but we were on a mission to see as much of the city as we could in a very short time. I will go back soon and make them my first stop. Now I know why my brother – in –  law loves living there…. Here are some pictures. Click on the photo to enlarge.

Girls weekend!!!

It is story time.

When I was 11. My granparents took me on a cruise to Alaska. I met a girl named Alissa on this cruise. She is from New Jersey. We became instant friends and grew a friendship over the next 7 years only writting letters to each other. I still have those letters. It is funny to go back and read them. What a different time we lived in 20 years ago. Well for her  trip at the end of her Senior year of high school her parents paid for her to come visit me in California. I was married and had a 1 year old, Alexandria. Alissa was preparing for college….I was preparing for motherhood…. After this visit we began to talk on the phone then we would email… I followed her progress as she went thru different majors in college and she followed me thru life as a wife and mother…When I was 22…I divorced my high school sweetheart and went thru the worst time in my life… She was always a phone call or email away. I think that is the best kind of friend someone who you can tell anything and you know they will always be there. Well I met Jasin, my husband now and moved to Louisiana and began a whole new chapter in my life. We decided to get married and Alissa flew in from New York and was my Maid of Honor. This was the 2nd time in our relationship I had seen her in person. It was like we saw each other everyday. Well she continued her schooling and is now a DOCTOR. I am so very proud of her… I am a proud mother of 4 and a very happy wife to the best man in the world… We traveled on 2 separate roads but stayed in contact for 22 years. When Alissa was doing her rounds a couple years ago we met in New Orleans for a girls weekend. We had a blast.  Well now she is getting married. I am flying off to New Jersey to be at her wedding. My sister, Casey who I have not seen in 2 years, is flying in from California to meet me and we are having a girls weekend. I am so excited….I can’t wait to see Alissa and my sister. I have my camera all ready to go. I will return and share our amazing trip with you. I will be back in a week. OH WOW…..No children for 5 days. Hubby is taking over the duties. What a man he is. This was my birthday present from him…A girls weekend… Thanks honey!!!! Thought I better throw that in even though he does not read my blog. I had to show the love. He really is a great husband. Have a great week.

Want a little flea market “sussie”????? Read my last post about all my flea market finds. E~mail me your home address. My e~mail address is a_muffoletto@hotmail.com. I will send a little “sussee” with somethings unique that I found while flea market shopping. I will give it to whoever emails me their address by Sunday night.

“I’ll throw out there that maybe “sussee”  rhymes with “fussy” is a derivitave of the word surprise.  “Sussee” means a small gift or treat, but, more importantly, it is a small gift given for no particular reason.” Down south we or I use the word “Sussie” alot because I love to give little surprises.

Have an awesome weekend. Love Ya!!!

Flea Market finds…

I used to go flea market shopping with my grandmother in California….this was before scrapbooking. I was in it to help her and make money… She would buy stuff and then resale it.  I was 12-15 years old. I really love the history behind all the wonderful antiques. I don’t have many chances to go and look around in peace and quiet but I did today. We went to Washington, Louisiana about 40 minutes from Lafayette. They have several antique malls and stores but the biggest one I ever saw was the one we went to. They made an old school into the antique mall. It is 2 story with a gym. and filled to the brim…Each classroom is a different booth full of so many different vintage yummies..But today they also had booths set up outside all over the property 100’s of little shops outside. It was so much fun looking around. I found some really great stuff….Check out the pics…

This was my favorite booth.
